A great opportunity for a Senior Unity Developer who has experience of building and enhancing apps that are suitable for both iOS and Android platforms.

You will have an opportunity to be involved in the prototyping and selection of new ideas to take forward into production as well as developing the road-map for existing apps.

Sprint and Agile are part of the team fabric and this role will be a key proponent of developing experiences on mobile that surprise and delight readers.

Responsibilities

• Leading internal mobile development on current app portfolio.
• Enabling the rapid development of new content types across our app portfolio.
• Ensuring that we create exceptional user experiences on all our mobile product and websites.
• Sharing expertise and knowledge through workshops, documentation, code reviews and coaching.
• Contributing to our development sprints both internally and using select third parties.
• Adding development fixes that address known backlog issues and ensuring we are iteratively improving the experience for our content teams, building brilliant, interactive experiences for readers.
• Working with the digital design team, more specifically the UX Designer to suggest and implement incremental UX improvements to products and sites and ensuring that we create the best possible user experience at all times.
• Liaising with the Analytics team to really understand the impact of development changes across the portfolio, consistently tracking the incremental gains in audience acquisition and retail clicks delivered as a result of development fixes and features
• Providing recommendations for our development backlog.

• Participating in design sprints to develop new products, features and implementations.
• Working with the Project Manager and Product Managers to plan projects through task estimation.

Experience Required

• Senior Unity Developer with at least 5+ years of demonstrable experience
• A solid working knowledge of Unity Engine, Javascript for Unity and API
• To be able to build apps for native iOS and Android platforms
• Knowledge of integrating social media SDKs for web and mobile
• Submission to Apple and Android platforms
• Detailed knowledge of coding best practice
• Keen design eye and an appreciation for the art of UX a must
• Familiarity with Agile Sprints and Scrums
